Chemical Stewardship Consultant (m/f/d)

As a Chemical Stewardship Consultant, you support the development and delivery of a variety of regulatory and technical programs that are assigned with a technical focus on risk assessment, toxicology, and chemical regulations. This is a position for a driven, high-energy individual to assist colleagues and clients by applying knowledge of regulatory toxicology and product safety to projects involving chemical compliance, product stewardship, and risk management.

The position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced regulatory professional in a growing technical team with an international client portfolio. The ideal candidate will excel at interacting with multi- national clients in a technical and product focused capacity and directly manage the relationship with a variety of key clients, providing high level technical and regulatory consultancy services to clients while helping to grow and drive the business and its strategy.

Your responsibilities

• The candidate will provide management and technical delivery of H2 Compliance’s portfolio of regulatory projects, focused on chemicals of concern, restricted substances, and product stewardship.
• Provide toxicological advice and robust solutions, regarding global chemical regulations; specifically relating to substances and products compliance obligations for raw materials, packaging, and product introductions.
• Provide regulatory knowledge and understanding of chemical regulations such as EU REACH, Food Contact Material, TSCA, etc., supporting preparation of appropriate regulatory reviews and filings.
• Identify, develop, and implement comprehensive strategies for meeting current or new initiatives including new chemical policies such as the EU Chemicals Strategy for Sustainability and the Green Deal.
• Work within a team of professionals to deliver a robust global product safety program, complete chemical product hazard and toxicology risk assessments, and drive value for a diverse portfolio of products across a variety of clients.
• Develop and nurture strong relationships with clients to ensure on time delivery of work in a proficient manner.
• Contribute to the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of tools and processes for product safety information management to drive efficiency.
• Business Development activities to grow technical services.

Your qualifications

• Toxicological or related field (ecotoxicology, biochemistry, pharmacology, etc.) primary degree preferred.
• 3-5 years within a chemical/regulatory role preferably with experience in toxicology, human health, risk assessment or product stewardship.
• Board certification (D.A.B.T. or E.R.T) or working towards certification is preferred.
• Strong technical and regulatory knowledge and expertise in relevant product safety/stewardship regulatory requirements and associated management systems and programs
• Working knowledge of EU and US chemical regulations such as Reach and TSCA, with focus on substances of concern, is preferred.
• Ability to analyze, understand and research regulatory information, data, and issues.
• Self-motivated and able to work within a team environment.
• Strong computer literacy.
• An excellent communicator in written and spoken English.
